Differentiating Instruction: Providing ALL Students Access to STEAM Across The Curriculum

Our vision of equity is for ALL students to have access to meaningful STEAM opportunities across the curriculum. By integrating STEAM activities across the curriculum, we support our students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. If we deliver authentic and rich STEAM integration experiences, we provide our student a rich language atmosphere of inquiry through questioning, discussion, experimentation, and reflection. Teachers will gain practical ways to enhance STEAM learning in their classrooms. Through experiential learning, teachers will experience captivating, low- to no-cost, hands-on demonstrations, lessons and projects that will get their students excited about learning and doing math and science. Teachers will explore resources and best practices for incorporating STEAM Career Explorations and career choices in their classroom instruction. During the workshop, teachers will have opportunities to collaborate, develop STEAM Lessons, and differentiate instruction using evidenced-based practices to support academic language across the curriculum. As a result of this workshop, teachers will understand key components to successfully enhance STEAM learning across all contents and offer rich learning opportunities to their students.
